According to reports from Brazil, Liverpool have received an offer of 30 million euros (£25.6 million) for Fluminense midfielder Andre.

The Red Devils are known to be fans of the 22-year-old and are expected to ramp up interest after missing out on Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo at Chelsea.

However, Fluminense seems to remain steadfast in its desire to keep the midfielder until at least January, dashing any hopes of a deal being signed before this summer’s transfer deadline.

Brazilian newspaper Globo reports that the Rio club are keen on Andre to participate in both matches of their upcoming Copa Libertadores quarter-final against Olimpia de Paragay, which takes place on August 24-31.

Finally, they recently turned down an initial offer of 30 million euros from Liverpool before it could be officially announced.

The offer would break Fluminense’s previous sales record, set at 17 million euros when Gerson moved to AS Roma in 2015.

The Red Devils now have two options in their search for Andre:

wait for the January transfer window to open or pay the €40m (£34m) release clause believed to be included in his contract.

The midfielder has made more than 140 appearances for Fluminense since leaving the club’s academy for the first team in September 2020.

His progress was recognized with his first appearance for Brazil earlier this year, which ended in a 2-4 friendly loss to Senegal.

Portugal’s Fulham and Sporting are also said to be interested in Andre.
