Djordje Petrovic is anticipated to be acquired by Chelsea in time to play against Luton Town on Friday.

They assert that Djordje Petrovic, a player for the MLS team New England Revolution, will fly to London shortly to join Chelsea.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper is expected to be named to the matchday squad when the Blues play Luton in the Premier League on Friday.

Once he officially joins, he will join a long list of summer signings as the most recent.

Edouard Mendy was sold by Chelsea to Al-Ahli earlier this summer. The goalkeeper department at Stamford Bridge now appears to be in dire need of personnel after Kepa Arrizabalaga left this month to sign a loan agreement with Real Madrid.

In response, the Blues signed 25-year-old Robert Sanchez from Brighton, a Premier League foe. For the first two games of the season, he has assumed the position as first-choice keeper.

Now, Mauricio Pochettino might have access to a different new shot-stopper.

Petrovic seems like he’s joining the team with the intention of challenging Sanchez for the starting job at Chelsea right away, but we predict he’ll sit the Luton match on the bench.

He will be joining with a stellar track record from his stint in the MLS. The goalie has also played for Serbia in two senior international matches.

We’re glad to see Chelsea’s goalkeeping staff completely overhauled for the upcoming campaign, but who will serve as the No. 1 choice over the long term?

Petrovic is a relatively undiscovered talent who could shock many, according to current teammate DeJuan Jones, who was reported by Revolution Soccer as calling him “absolutely incredible”.
