There is good news for Liverpool fans: Alexis Mac Allister is now free from suspension for his red card against Bournemouth.

The Argentinian was sent off this weekend after being convicted of committing a dangerous tackle. However, everyone who saw it, apart from the referee and VAR, was convinced it wasn’t a red card.

The hearts of Liverpool fans were racing after the referee pulled out his red card and sent Alexis Mac Allister onto the pitch against Bournemouth.

The slow-motion shots make the Argentine’s challenge look much worse than it actually was, but almost everyone agrees that the broadcast was too harsh.

Unsurprisingly, Liverpool appealed the three-match ban Mac Allister was forced to serve and the FA faced a major decision. Luckily for the Reds fans, they came to the right conclusion and rescinded the red card.

Mac Allister will now be available for selection in Liverpool’s next match, which takes place against Newcastle United on Sunday. The midfielder is delighted and grateful that his club has appealed against the red card and suspension.
It’s a new Premier League season, but the refereeing standards are still the same.

Howard Webb has been driven to turn things around and improve the quality of public servants, but it has to be said that things have only gotten worse in recent months.

The decision to send off Mac Allister didn’t affect the outcome of the game, luckily for Jurgen Klopp, but there will be times when a bad decision will cost a team really dearly.

Sadly, the FA and PGMOL won’t do much after the game other than to apologize.
