Chelsea have now told Trevoh Chalobah that bids for him will be accepted between now and transfer deadline day next Friday.

According to Matt Law of the Telegraph, who was interviewed for the London Is Blue podcast, this is the case.

What’s the story?

Chelsea reportedly informed the 24-year-old that they will now consider any bids for him that are in line with their asking price.

Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that the Blues will accept £22 million for Chalobah following another summer of significant investment.

The No. 14 for Chelsea, on the other hand, is determined to keep his job under Mauricio Pochettino and does not want to leave Stamford Bridge.

The Argentine has not even started Chalobah on the bench in Chelsea’s opening two Premier League matches of the 2023–24 season.

By bringing in Axel Disasi this summer, Pochettino has further devalued the Freetown-born defender while elevating Levi Colwill over his fellow academy graduate.

Trevoh Chalobah should leave Chelsea

Chalobah ought to work with Chelsea and consider leaving Stamford Bridge, in our opinion.

Although he is too good to be a mere backup option, we respect the England Under-21 international’s desire to stay and fight for his future at Chelsea.

This summer, Chalobah has been linked to teams like Inter Milan and West Ham, both of which may provide him with European football and the possibility to catch Gareth Southgate’s eye for the summer of 2024’s EURO competition.

Being a regular starter for one of those two teams would undoubtedly be more appealing than competing for a spot under Pochettino with players like Colwill, Disasi, Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, and Wesley Fofana.

Keep an eye on this situation because it’s still unclear whether Chelsea or Chalobah will prevail in the end.
