  • Steve Cooper has refused to confirm that Brennan Johnson will remain at Nottingham Forest, admitting that he is taking things ‘day-to-day’ with the forward at the moment

Over the past few days, there has been a significant increase in rumors tying Johnson to a transfer to Tottenham, with The Times stating earlier this week that Spurs had moved into first place to sign him over Chelsea because the player prefers to sign with the Lilywhites over their London rivals.

The article also mentioned that Forest are becoming more and more prepared for the 22-year-old to leave the team prior to the transfer deadline.

The Welshman is still valued considerably differently by Tottenham and Forests, according to information published on Thursday by The Independent, and the Reds have refused to decrease their £40 million asking price for the promising player.

Cooper has since claimed that he is not following the rumors about Johnson’s future and that he is not informed of any talks regarding the attacking midfielder.

The Forest manager responded, “I’m not sure; I don’t deal with that,” when asked if there had been any fresh offers for the starlet. Brennan is what I deal with on a daily basis.

We are conversing frequently at the moment, but it is business as usual. We are discussing his performance, his growth, and everything else related to being at his best—or trying to be at his best.
