Nadiem Amiri and Joseph Paintsil  potential signings by Leeds United are “not dead.”

According to Phil Hay, who gave a report on Leeds’ pursuit of both players in the Athletic today, they were still hopeful of doing so as of last night.

Yesterday, according to reports from Sky in Germany, midfielder Amiri of Bayer Leverkusen had yet again changed his mind and rejected down a transfer to Leeds.

Amiri first turned down Leeds on Thursday morning but eventually accepted the transfer; however, there is still no guarantee that he would attend.

According to Hay, Leverkusen accepted a £5 million bid from Leeds for the 26-year-old, and it is anticipated that the matter will be resolved following today’s games for both teams.

Hay says Leeds’ pursuit of Paintsil and Amiri still live

Leeds’ first bid of £8.6 million for Paintsil was rejected yesterday, although the two parties are still in contact.

Sacha Tavolieri claims that Genk has issued a counterproposal back to Leeds claiming that they are pleased with the but want to make sure the entire amount is guaranteed.

Instead, Leeds made an opening offer of about £6.8 million, with the remaining money coming from add-ons. As a result, the two parties are still in contact.

Both players would be valuable additions to Daniel Farke’s team, giving him the number 10 he so desperately needs and another elite forward option in Paintsil.

Leeds must move swiftly to complete them because there are only six days left in the window
