This summer, Leroy Sane has unexpectedly been linked to Liverpool, and Jamie Carragher is a major fan.

The Reds have been concentrating on their midfield all summer long. They’ve added three new players to that position, but if Mo Salah decides to move to Saudi Arabia, they might suddenly require a new forward. Sane, who is reportedly rumored to be interested in moving to Liverpool by CalcioMercato, would be a fantastic replacement.

Jamie Carragher once compared Liverpool target Leroy Sane to Ryan Giggs

When he played for Manchester City, one of Liverpool’s fiercest rivals, Leroy Sane was a star in the Premier League. The now 27-year-old was virtually unstoppable at times and was instrumental in Pep Guardiola’s team’s success in winning so many championships.

He has a lot of admirers, including Jamie Carragher, who has watched him on multiple times throughout the years.

The Reds veteran even likened the German to legendary Manchester United player Ryan Giggs back in March 2018.

According to The Daily Mail, he declared, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen three goals in one half of football as good as this,” after seeing Manchester City destroy Arsenal. It’s Ryan Giggs at his finest, and this is from Sane.

After witnessing Sane play for Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Carragher praised him even more recently, in September of last year.

On September 22, 2013, at 10:10 p.m. on CBS Sports, he stated: “Just on Sane, he’s not someone we talk about as one of the top players in Europe. But if you consider his performances in the first two Champions League matchdays, there is definitely no one who can match him.

“I am aware that Bayern Munich previously won the Champions League. However, if you look back to when they won it before that, it was against Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund at Wembley. They have Ribery and Robben; if he adds consistency, can’t he reach their level?

Mo Salah must be Liverpool’s top priority during this transfer window.

One of the best players in the world, the Egyptian is undoubtedly the main factor in Liverpool’s success under Jurgen Klopp.

But if Salah ultimately decides to leave, Liverpool will need a top-notch successor, and Sane would be excellent. He can play on either wing, is quick, excellent with the ball, and routinely produces chances to score goals.

He would be fantastic, but it is unclear if Bayern Munich would be open to selling him at this point in the transfer market.
