Midfielder scores in 2-0 victory at Bournemouth as Ange Postecoglou’sside claim second win in arow

James Maddison’s first goal for Tottenham Hotspur extended their successful start to the season under Ange Postecoglou as they defeated AFC Bournemouth 2-0 thanks to his goal.

After seizing Pape Matar Sarr’s exquisite through-pass in the 17th minute, Maddison scored the game’s first goal by putting the ball into the bottom-left corner of the net.

With his goal at Vitality Stadium, Maddison has now contributed to 18 Premier League goals in 20 away games, adding to his two assists against Brentford in Matchweek 1.

After leaving the encounter against Manchester United a week prior with a protective boot on, Maddison turned in an amazing display.

There weren’t many opportunities for Bournemouth to square the score, with Ryan Christie’s long-range attempt against Guglielmo Vicario in the first half being their best opportunity.

The home team exerted prolonged pressure after the break, but Antoine Semenyo’s long-range shot missed the goal, and Dominic Solanke crossed the ball dangerously across the box, but none of his teammates were in a position to score.

Dejan Kulusevski scored Spurs’ first Premier League goal in 20 games at 63 minutes to secure the three points. The Swedish player finished from close range after Destiny Udogie cut the ball back into the six-yard box.

Prior to Saturday’s 15:00 matches, Ange Postecoglou’s team’s victory propelled them momentarily to the top of the standings.

Spurs have only ever scored at least twice in each of their opening three Premier League games once before.
