Liverpool have already signed Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo this summer, but other moves should be completed before Friday’s deadline.
Jurgen Klopp denies Mohamed Salah transfer rumours

Liverpool will show the quality of their top four on Sunday afternoon when they take on Premier League side Newcastle at St James’ Park. Both teams will be looking to win an early season match to see if they can fight for glory. Eddie Howe’s side meet that challenge after beating Aston Villa 5-1 at St James’ Park on the opening day of the campaign. Liverpool’s defeat could force Jurgen Klopp to bring in more signings before Friday’s transfer deadline, despite having to pay £100m this summer. The Reds spent big on Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo. But who cares about Klopp? Here’s the latest transfer talk from Anfield… Healthy for Salah? According to Calciomercato, Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane. The 27-year-old former Manchester City star is said to be on Klopp’s shortlist as an emergency should Mohamed Salah join Saudi Arabia from Merseyside. Salah, 31, is a transfer target for Al-Ittihad and the Saudi Arabia Pro League champions are making every effort to sign him before the transfer deadline. Saudi Arabia’s transfer window doesn’t close until September 20, and Klopp faces a nervous three weeks ahead. If Salah decides to leave Merseyside in a €100m (£85.8m) deal before Friday’s European Union deadline, Klopp will look elsewhere. It is believed that Sané, who has two years left on his contract with Bayern, could be available for around €65m (£55.8m). Sane won the PFA Young Player of the Year award at Man City and has scored 40 goals in 135 appearances since joining Bayern three years ago. He continues to be one of the most exciting wingers in Europe and can improve his game even further. Phillips contract is required

Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James believes his former employer should sign Man City midfielder Kalvin Phillips. The Reds are set to sign new defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia after rejecting a move from Chelsea. Liverpool are reportedly considering a bold move for 27-year-old Phillips. The England international has barely featured since joining Man City a year ago and has enjoyed much of his treble season comfortably on Pep Guardiola’s bench. Speaking to GGRecon, James said: “I think Kalvin Phillips is a great player… There’s no reason why Kalvin Phillips can’t fit into the Liverpool team.”

According to Calciomercato, Liverpool are interested in Juventus left-back Andrea Cambiaso. The 23-year-old Italy youth international impressed on loan at Bologna last season and started in Juventus’ recent 3-0 win over Udinese. The Reds could compete for Cambiasso’s arrival, with Tottenham and Nottingham Forest also believed to be interested in him. It is not clear whether Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri would agree to the player leaving Turin.
