Chelsea have rejected a £77m fee for Liverpool’s squad as Klopp prepares for Mo Salah’s departure.

Liverpool have reportedly identified Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix as a replacement for Mohamed Salah when he leaves the club this summer.

The Egypt international is attracting interest from Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad, who are ready to offer him a record salary as they try to lure him away from Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has already said that “the answer would be no” if he received an offer. In reality, however, each has a price tag – although Salah’s is well over £100m.

The 31-year-old is also believed to be happy about a move to Saudi Arabia, but is not actively looking to move away from the Reds. Liverpool are currently drawing up contingency plans should their all-time Premier League goalscorer leave the club.

Both would certainly be exciting additions, but filling Salah’s boots won’t be easy.

Liverpool are now planning a shock move for Felix, who is desperate to move clubs this summer.

Felix looked at Liverpool to replace Salah
According to Football Transfers, Felix is one of the players Liverpool want to bring in if Salah is sold this summer.

The Portuguese international is looking for a new club as he has a bad relationship with Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone. Barcelona want to sign Felix, but his price tag of around £77m could make it difficult to complete a deal given their ongoing financial problems.

It has also been reported that the 23-year-old has agreed to join Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal on a season-long loan should the move to Barcelona fail. However, Atletico would like to sell him permanently.

Felix spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea. He played 20 games for the Blues in all competitions and scored four goals. Despite his good performances, Mauricio Pochettino is not interested in signing him permanently.

A versatile player, Felix has the ability to play as a winger, second striker or centre-forward, so in that sense he would be a logical replacement for Salah at Liverpool.

With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if the Merseyside club make a bid for Felix if Salah makes a big money move to Saudi Arabia.
