Liverpool are lining up Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah should the Anfield icon complete a summer move to the Saudi Pro League, FootballTransfers can exclusively reveal.

The 31-year-old’s contract with Liverpool still has two years left, and manager Jurgen Klopp and his team are clearly eager to keep the services of a player who will go down as one of Liverpool’s all-time greats.

However, there is still a chance that Liverpool may be presented with a Salah transfer offer that they cannot refuse.

Liverpool’s ambition to keep Salah will be put to the test by an impending £100 million offer from Al-Ittihad. The Saudi Pro League team’s strategy is to influence the Reds to choose the attacker quickly.

FootballTransfers has learned that Liverpool, who publicly state that they have no intention of moving the superstar, are in fact putting up backup plans in the event that Salah leaves. One such player is Joao Felix, who joined Chelsea on loan for the second part of last season.

Meanwhile, Spain is closely monitoring oao Felix’s destiny.

The 23-year-old offensive midfielder has made it plain that he wants to switch teams, and Barcelona is looking for a method to sign him. Given that Barca is able to cover the player’s salary, this is most certainly a loan agreement, according to Spanish media reports.

In a similar vein, there is a chance that the Saudi Pro League will sign the player. According to AS, if a deal with Barcelona falls through, Al-Hilal is prepared to take the attacker on loan.

Felix, however, may possibly choose Liverpool as a third option after scoring four goals in 20 games for Chelsea earlier this year.
