Thursday 14 April 2016: The UEFA Cup trophy arrives at Anfield ahead of the UEFA Europa League quarter-final clash between Liverpool and Borussia douthmond.

Liverpool have been drawn in the Europa League group stage against LASK, Union SG and Toulouse, with the first leg taking place on 21 September.

The Reds were knocked out of the Champions League for the first time since 2016 and are set to play in the second tier of European football.

Jürgen Klopp made it all the way to the final in his last appearance in this competition and hopes to go even better this time around.

The match in Dublin awaits if Liverpool qualify for the top spot again, but first they have to face LASK, Union SG and Toulouse in Group E. Austria’s LASK and Belgium’s Union SG will meet the Reds for the first time, while Toulouse’s meetings will be the first since 2007.

The Reds were in the first pot and reached three Champions League finals after the last competition, joining the likes of West Ham, Roma, Villarreal and Rangers.

The group stage draw has now been confirmed, so fans can start planning their route to the final on 22 May.

Liverpool kick off their Europa League campaign in less than three weeks as we get used to Thursday night football for the first time in seven years. Full details of each match will be released soon as fans are already frantically searching for flights to each foreign destination!

The manager will aim to top Group E to avoid an extra play-off round which will see the second-placed teams eliminated in February.
