We’ve come to the end of today’s Liverpool live blog, but we’ll be back from 7am with all the latest Reds news!

Cheick Doucoure has been left out of Crystal Palace’s squad for their Carabao Cup second round clash with Plymouth Argyle tonight.

The Malian midfielder was linked with a move to Liverpool during the summer transfer window, with the 23-year-old valued at £70m.
It remains to be seen whether the Reds will add to their squad before Friday’s transfer deadline, with many still worried about Jurgen Klopp as he continues to sign three players since early June.
A number of names have been mentioned to fill Fabinho’s void, from Joao Palhinha to Andrea, and Doucoure was one of the first to emerge as a candidate to rebuild the Reds’ squad. The ECHO reported in July that the Palace star was on a shortlist of names drawn up to replace Fabinho, although interest has yet to be received at the next stage. Liverpool may not yet have made a bid for the Eagles’ 2022/23 Player of the Year, although Reds supporters on social media were encouraged by the fact that he was not included in Roy Hodgson’s squad for their Carabao Cup clash at Plymouth. in the evening
Liverpool have confirmed that defender Billy Koumetio has joined French second division side USL Dunkerque on a season-long loan deal.

Virgil van Dijk could see his one-match ban extended to two after the Football Association blamed him for his reaction to being sent off against Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

The Liverpool defender was sent off by referee John Brooks for a foul on Alexander Isak on the edge of the area in the first half and was left in disbelief when he saw Brooks show him the red card.

Van Dijk protested the decision before leaving the pitch and was later seen confronting fourth official Stuart Attwell before heading into the tunnel.

The Liverpool No.4 was only due to receive a one-match ban for his sending off, but now faces an unwanted two-match ban after being charged with breaching FA Rule E3.1.

West Ham United have ‘discussed’ a deal with Joe Gomez,

it has been suggested.
The Liverpool defender was targeted by Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad yesterday, and there appears to be interest in the Premier League centre-back as well.

Steve McManaman has insisted that Mohamed Salah leaving Liverpool before the end of the current transfer window would be “so wrong”.
The Reds talisman is still being linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, where Al-Ittihad are set to jump, although the Reds are reluctant to make a move for the Egyptian. Former Liverpool midfielder McManaman gave BetFred his take on the Salah saga:

“Maybe he wants to move now, but I have no idea, to be honest. The timing of this move is so wrong that it will never happen in the current window. I don’t think it’s about the money because it’s too late and losing Mo Salah to Liverpool for £100-200 million is unthinkable. If it happened in June, maybe. Next June? possible Probably. But days later, the move is not possible because Jürgen Klopp won’t let it happen.

“A takeover could happen next season because he’s 32 and if the aforementioned numbers stay the same then of course Liverpool and Mo will look at it. Of course if the money is right it’s good for both the player and the club.

If Mo asks to leave next summer, I’m sure Liverpool will consider it. It’s like when Real Madrid let Casemiro go because the money was so good. When a player has been with you for so long and has been a superstar for you, you don’t deny him a transfer.”

Liverpool have reportedly made a bid for Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure.
The SZ report claims the Reds are keen to sign a No.6 player ahead of Friday’s transfer window and Doucoure is on their shortlist.

It remains to be seen whether the agreement on the Malians will be implemented in the coming days.

Middlesbrough are reportedly eyeing a loan move for Liverpool defender Nat Phillips. The 26-year-old has long been linked with a move away from Anfield, but you have held your ground each time.

Leeds and Feyenoord have previously been linked with the centre-back in the current transfer window, although Middlesbrough are now trying to seal a deal.
That’s according to The Athletic, who say Phillips could temporarily leave the Reds before Friday.

According to the Independent, Liverpool could turn their attention to Wilfried Ndidi.
They claim the Reds are “looking” at whether they can make another midfield signing. Their interest in Cheick Doucoure was said to have been priced out so far.
