UEFA, in all its infinite wisdom, decided to guess the transfer of the Europa League and Europa Conference leagues. So in case you missed it, the Reds face Austria’s LASK, Belgium’s Union Saint Gilloise and France’s Toulouse in Group E.

All in all, it’s a pretty good bet for the Reds, both in terms of competition and distance covered. No trips to Kazakhstan, guys. At least not until the 358th round of the playoffs. The full fixture list is as follows, times in BST. :

Thursday, September 21 – CALCULUS (A) – 5:45 p.m

Thursday 5th October – Union SG (H) – 8.00pm

Thursday, October 26 – Toulouse (H) – 8:00 p.m.

Thursday 9 November – Toulouse (A) – 17.45

Thursday, November 30 – CALCULUS (H) – 8:00 p.m

Thursday 14th December – Union SG (A) – 5.45pm

Apart from the group stage, which starts and ends on the road, the schedule is quite friendly for Liverpool. The Reds have home games after each of their three away games against West Ham,

Brentford and Manchester United. Should the Reds win their group for the final game, it would also help with squad rotation ahead of the meeting with United.

Matchday 2 is a bit of a tough one, between Tottenham on Saturday 30th September and Brighton on Sunday 8th October.

The Reds host Nottingham Forrest after Game 3 and Fulham after Game 5.

Good bet. We take Europe, win the group and then the damn thing.
