Emery’s side have failed to score in just two of their last 28 Premier League matches.

Last weekend at Burnley, Villa picked up their first league win in six away games since beating Leicester City in April.

Emery took charge of the visitors last November and has overseen 28 league games so far, with 17 wins, four draws and seven losses.

In the last 37 league meetings between the teams at Anfield, there has only been one goalless draw – in March 2000.
