Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah either side of a Matty Cash own goal secured victory.

Alexander-Arnold retires from the England team
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has withdrawn from England’s squad for the matches against Ukraine and Scotland in September due to injury. The defender suffered the injury in the second half of his side’s 3-0 Premier League win against Aston Villa at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. Speaking at his post-match press conference, Jürgen Klopp revealed that Alexander-Arnold was optimistic that the problem was not serious.

He said: “I don’t know exactly. I asked him, he said it was [his] hamstring. Not too serious, that’s his opinion, but of course we have to wait for the tests and then we’ll know more. . . .”

Gravenberch shocks Ronald Koeman
Ryan Gravenberch is under threat of being dropped from the Netherlands squad by Ronald Koeman after Liverpool’s new signing refused to join the under-21s.

Netherlands Under-21 boss Michael Reiziger has revealed he told the Reds’ £40million midfielder he had made the “wrong choice” to stay at his new club during the break to get used to life on Merseyside.

Gravenberch was on deadline day to sign from Bayern Munich, becoming the Reds’ fourth signing of an eventful summer, joining just hours before the transfer window closed on Friday night.
It emerged on Monday that the 21-year-old has decided to stay at Liverpool during the break to train at the club’s AXA training center ahead of a possible Premier League debut at Wolves on September 16.

“The player is untouchable”
Mohamed Salah has been described as “untouchable” amid continued speculation surrounding his future. Salah remains a target for Al Ittihad, who are believed to be preparing a fresh bid for the striker after an initial bid of £150m was rejected on Friday.
And reporter Fabrizio Romano said on the DeBrief podcast: “Liverpool are very relaxed about this situation.
“I think the Saudis will come back because it’s normal for them. Let’s go back to the approach to Liverpool, we’ll approach the players’ camp, but I don’t think it’s anything specific or progressive because, frankly, Liverpool. were always clear.

“When we had all these rumors  Liverpool always sent the same message: the player is untouchable. Mo Salah will not leave.”

Valverde’s statement
Federico Valverde already regrets his choice to stay at Real Madrid because of Liverpool’s interest.
According to Spanish publication Nacional, Valverde has “already noticed” that he is not an “undisputed starter” at Real this campaign.
The report claims that the midfielder “now half regrets the decision” and “the best thing he could do is pack his bags”.

Argument of the Saudi delegation
The Mail Online claims a Saudi delegation arrived in London at the weekend in a final push to pressure Mohamed Salah away from Liverpool. The Reds’ no-sale stance has been clear all summer, but Saudi Pro League clubs have until Thursday at the latest to make deals – almost a week after English clubs close.
This latest claim comes amid intense speculation over a proposed £200m follow-up for the Egyptian.

Liverpool have a chance to win the Premier League
The positive start of the season of the Reds made them a contender of the Premier League, although many initially did not see them as one of the favorites.
Betfair’s latest listings have shown Jürgen Klopp’s men moving up the table, currently 6/1 to win the trophy again, with only Manchester City and Arsenal behind them.
