Steve Nicol has praised Darwin Nunez’s development in recent months, with the Liverpool striker once again impressing on the weekend.

e pundit lauded the 24-year-old attacker’s display against Aston Villa, with the performance coming after Nunez’s brace that saw Liverpool claim a 2-1 win against Newcastle United.

The striker was arguably Liverpool’s best player in pre-season with Nunez this campaign taking his game to new levels, with Jurgen Klopp finally starting the Uruguayan international on Sunday.

And the Liverpool manager’s decision proved to be the correct one, with Nunez claiming an unofficial assist for Matty Cash’s own goal as well as claiming an official one for Mohamed Salah.

“But I tell you what was the most impressive thing for me with Darwin Nunez, which clearly he’s added to his game, his control in his finishing. I think he’s improved so much from last year, just in his composure in the box, his control.”

Nunez can get even better for Liverpool this season
