According to The Sun, Liverpool could renew their interest in Fluminense midfielder Andrea in January. The Merseysiders could make a fresh bid for the 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder after their club rejected his approach in the summer.
Liverpool’s transfer window may have ended on a positive note. But they lost some key midfield targets in the summer.

Jurgen Klopp has been put on the market following the rapid departure of at least five forward midfielders. While three remained on free transfers, what Klopp didn’t think about was the departure of Fabinho and captain Jordan Henderson.

The duo left a gap in the middle and Liverpool did everything they could to sign some big names including Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

The duo decided to join Chelsea instead, forcing Liverpool to bring in Japanese star Wataru Endo from VfB Stuttgart. The 30-year-old was only pursued after they were frustrated in their pursuit of Fluminense’s 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder Andre.

Several clubs were interested in the 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder, with West Ham United also eyeing the window on deadline day. Liverpool’s interest surpassed all other suitors, but Fluminense wanted to keep him, especially because of the price Liverpool offered.
They wanted the release clause in his contract to be exercised and rejected Liverpool’s offer, which could be around £30 million. More importantly, Fluminense wanted to keep the 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder for the current season, which could open up new opportunities in January.
Liverpool could return to Brazil to revive their interest in the next window. The conditions of the winter window of the Brazilian market may seem more favorable than in the summer. So the Reds can have a chance to negotiate a price with Fluminense and sign Andre properly.

Liverpool have closed the window to sign Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich, but their interest in Andrea will not disappear. Klopp likes the player in his squad and is urging the club to make another bid in the January window.

Fluminense could then sign the 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder as he looks set to move to Merseyside. At the same time, other big clubs could also enter the equation, especially Chelsea and West Ham, who are keen in the summer.
