A Saudi group has reportedly landed in London for negotiations over Mo Salah and is prepared to make a £250 million offer for his services, making the upcoming days extremely difficult for Liverpool Football Club.

The board and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp are rumored to have maintained their strong stance that the Egyptian King is not for sale – at any price.

But once an official offer for the striker is made for an almost record-breaking sum, that stance will be put to the ultimate test.

While Liverpool will whine about not being able to buy a replacement, they will also need to consider whether it’s good business to be turning down such a large sum for a player who is already 31 years old. The Kenny Sport report that this will become a reality before the Saudi transfer deadline closes in a few days.

Even in this day and age, £200 million can still go a long way, and the Reds have proven their shrewdness in the transfer market. Of course, it will be challenging to simply go out there in January and cherry pick someone to replace a man who has been the center of the team for years.

In this case, the proverb “one player doesn’t make a team” is absolutely true, and by the weekend, we’ll probably know how effectively Liverpool handled Saudi overtures.
