Luis Diaz believes being a Liverpool player has added ‘intensity’ and ‘aggression’ to his game, revealing his pride at representing the club.

The No.7, who arrived from FC Porto in January 2022, has helped the Reds to an unbeaten start in the 2023-24 Premier League, returning three wins and a draw from their opening four fixtures.

Diaz was on the scoresheet in two of those games and played another key role in Sunday’s 3-0 defeat of Aston Villa at Anfield, having missed much of last season through injury.

“I would say since I’ve been here, I’ve increased my intensity and I have a little more aggressiveness about me,” Diaz said on the game day show.

“Maybe I already developed those things at Porto because I learned an awful lot about those aspects there as well. When you come to Europe, you work a lot more on those aspects of your game because you are aggressive.

“I also learned a lot about decision making and being more free when given the opportunity. I think I have grown both in football and personally, and all this makes me very happy.”

Representing Liverpool, he added: “I’m very proud to be at such a huge club.

“I’m incredibly happy to be here, very comfortable and really happy. I always try to enjoy every minute. I have great teammates and I’m playing with some famous players that I used to watch on TV.

hopefully, I can continue to make those dreams come true and continue the successes I’ve had so far.”

As for his injury last season…
It was a difficult and difficult time for me. It’s very frustrating not being able to be there for every game with the team. It’s so hard to see all your teammates play and not be able to be with them. This period was really difficult for me, but I tried not to overthink things or pay much attention to negative things, so that my head doesn’t swim with all these thoughts. It was about work, work and more work so that I could be fully fit and recovered; so when I was 100 percent again, I would be ready to try and help the team.

Yes, that’s good, my English is much better. I am now trying to get a lot of lessons at home and my hearing is better, but speaking is a little more difficult.

But yes, much better. It’s very hard, I won’t lie, but it’s actually getting better and I’ve gotten better in that sense.
In his new teammate Alexis Mac Allister…

Alexis and I have a good friendship since he arrived.

He was very close to me and of course the other South American players – Darwin and Alisson and I spend a lot of time together and we all get on really well. In terms of what Alexis brings to the team, he just has so much quality. He makes the team play and brings a real dynamic. Not only does he have the ball, but he doesn’t control the ball – he always tries to make sure he’s in the right position and makes the right decision. There’s something about him that really impresses me.

In the time we’ve known each other, he’s a great guy – really cool, very humble and down-to-earth and easy to get along with.

I feel more and more confident day by day and with each practice. Scoring beautiful goals has a lot to do with the fact that I have worked hard to be fit and to be honest, I feel great – 100% and I am sure that I will do a lot this season to make the fans very happy. happy I have no doubt. I always try to be in the best shape because my game is…

well, I always try to do things like scoring and goals and the joy and satisfaction of playing football. I know it will be a good year.
Walking in Anfield so you never walk alone…

It’s so amazing. It is a completely unique feeling and sensation, a true once in a lifetime experience.

Knowing that when you go on the field, you experience those great fans and that great stadium that is always up there and right behind us cheering us on, it gives me goosebumps sometimes.

Honestly, nothing else compares to it. I am happy to be in this great company and I wouldn’t change a thing about this amazing experience.
