How Sadio Mane helped new Man City star Jeremy Doku suffocate Liverpool and anger Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been told he can repeat Mohamed Salah’s feat by bringing in a new striker and turning him into a golem machine. And the German, who is desperate to keep hold of Salah amid Saudi interest, has been named as seven players who could make a breakthrough at Anfield under his leadership.

Liverpool signed Salah from Roma in 2017 after agreeing a £34m fee to secure the Egypt international’s services. Salah scored just 15 league goals during his last campaign in Italy, compared to 14 last season.

Liverpool rejected Al-Ittihad’s £150million bid for Salah last week after the Saudi club made a surprise bid to pry the 31-year-old away from Anfield. But Saudi Arabia’s transfer window doesn’t close until Friday, meaning Klopp could still lose Salah. But former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison believes the player can be traded for a new striker on Merseyside.
