Exciting winger Ben Doak gets a chance in the Europa League

With 17-year-old Doak only joining the Celtic club in 2022, Klopp may find it difficult to bring him into Liverpool’s Europa League squad due to strict UEFA rules.

However, the German boss will no doubt be looking to work around him to ensure the exciting young winger is included during the Reds’ group games.
Doak was one of the stars of Liverpool’s pre-season and has already featured on the bench in the Premier League this season, replacing Mohamed Salah after the opening 15 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

It is a talent that Klopp already seems to trust and his explosive profile ensures that he quickly caught the attention of
Quansah, 20, was unknown to most when he came off the bench at Newcastle before Liverpool’s stunning late comeback.
The sample size for the high-profile defenseman is small, but early signs suggest he could be one to keep an eye on. He is an elegant client for such a tall client and his height contributes to the physical burden.

However, Quansah has just retired from international duty with England under-20s, so his injury could come under scrutiny before Klopp’s 25-man squad is announced. Liverpool hope he avoids major trouble.

To be fair, many of the Academy stars won’t get too many opportunities to earn chances in the Europa League this season, with the fringe players enjoying most of the game in the group stages.
However, another young talent who could get some minutes is 18-year-old Mabaya. His profile should intrigue Klopp and company as he is a midfielder who can also operate on the right.

Perhaps the teenager is the perfect cover option for Trent Alexander-Arnold? With Calvin Ramsey on loan, depth behind Trent is thin. Liverpool supporters will no doubt want to see their glory at a higher level and Mabaya could get his chance in the coming weeks and months.
What are the rules for Europa League teams?U

UEFArules are quite strict and Klopp must name his final 25-man squad for the Europa League group stage by 11am (BST) on Monday 11 September. The Europa League teams are divided into two lists – List A and List B – and at least eight places in the A List are allocated to locally trained players. Up to four of them can be classified as Union Trainees.

Players are defined by UEFA as players between the ages of 15 and 21 who have been registered by their current club for at least three seasons – nationality and current age are irrelevant. An association trained player is a person between the ages of 15 and 21 who has been registered for at least three seasons at a club or other clubs belonging to a relevant national championship.

An unlimited number of players can be assigned to List B, but Doak does not qualify for this list because, despite the age requirements, he has not yet been at Liverpool for two consecutive years. However, Klopp looks set to drop senior goalkeeper Adrian to make way for the young Scot in the A-list.
