The results of Liverpool’s EA Sports 24 player ratings have been ‘leaked’ by Twitter user @Fut_scoreboard, and they are, to put it mildly, quite interesting. After twenty years of releases, the FIFA franchise is relaunched in the brand-new video game. Every year, fans look forward to hearing about their favorite players’ ratings for the match, but we have a hunch that some Reds supporters might not be delighted.

Unexpected judgments have been made regarding the team’s overall ratings, and the Premier League’s difficulties last season appear to have had an impact. A number of the team’s stars have seen their ratings drop from the previous year. Though there have been some improvements, the team now has 15 players with ratings of at least 80, which isn’t bad at all.

Which Liverpool players’ ratings have fallen?

The most unexpected finding in the group was that Mohamed Salah’s rating had dropped from 90 to 89 this year, with the video game designers paying close attention to his slumping season in 2016. While it’s true that he had a below-par season by his standards, he was still far and away the best player in England, and his statistics were still astounding, so it’s shocking to see his score decline.

Virgil van Dijk’s 90 rating was also reduced to 89 since the defender is becoming older and losing ground. It was inevitable that the Dutchman would eventually lose his status as one of the world’s top defenders, but for the time being, the decline is not too significant.

Joel Matip’s performance has significantly declined, and his present overall rating of just 80 is significantly lower than the 84 he attained in the previous game. It comes as confirmation of the Reds’ struggles all season, especially on defense. Joe Gomez dropped from an 81 to a 79, continuing the trend of defenders leaving the 80s, and given his struggles to even play consistently at Anfield, it’s hard to contest that.

Previously rated at 87 each, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are now both at 86. It’s not unexpected that their ratings reflect the criticism that both received last year during the club’s difficulties.

Thiago is the last member of the Reds to see his rating fall from 86 in the previous game to 84 presently, making him the seventh player from the Reds’ team from a year ago to do so. However, the fact that five of the stars who were downgraded came from the team’s back line is indicative of how well the defense played last season.
