The Fluminense president will make Andre’s claim if it is confirmed in January

Liverpool transfer news amid pursuit of midfielder Andre Trindade

Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt has claimed that Liverpool were indeed interested in signing midfielder Andre Trindade in the summer transfer window.
The Reds sounded the alarm for the 22-year-old after the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. But Fluminense are reluctant to allow Andrea Brazlia to leave mid-season – especially as they eyed Copa Libertadores glory as they reached the semi-finals of the competition.
It has been suggested that Jürgen Klopp’s side could rekindle their interest in Andrei in the January transfer window. Speaking to ESPN via O Globo, Bittencourt revealed that Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan has contacted Fluminense. And Flue has not ruled out selling one cap to the Brazilian national team in the coming months.

Bittencourt said: “There is an agreement between us, the player and the agent, that he will stay until the end of the year and they will respect that completely and with the utmost calmness,” explained the playmaker.

They worked as a representative of the athlete, which means: they forward all incoming votes to Fluminense.

“For Liverpool, I go even further. The CEO of Liverpool contacted me directly. And I answered him: “My friend, I do not sell players now and I do not offer now.” If you want to buy now and hit the road in January, we can talk, or if you want to wait until December and we’ll talk in December.”
