10 Liverpool first team players WILL NOT be on international duty this month It has been a busy month for many of Jurgen Klopp’s senior players representing their country, but 10 of them will not be involved in international action in September. After only four games, the national team’s hiatus forced the season to end as we are once again tearing our hair out over the bad timing of the hiatus. Liverpool have a total of 16 senior players currently representing their country around the world, with a further eight youngsters also receiving a call-up. In particular, 10 senior players were not included this month due to injury, personal choice or lack of choice. Adrian, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Curtis Jones are all out, while Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley and Thiago are all on Liverpool’s injured list and thus miss out. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been forced out of the England squad after suffering a hamstring injury in the win over Aston Villa, leaving him a doubt for the trip to Wolves. However, young centre-back Jarell Quansah was dropped from England’s U20 squad, but his withdrawal to the Young Lions training camp was not granted. Ryan Gravenberch has caused a stir in the Dutch camp after deciding to turn down an U21 call-up and focus instead on settling in at Liverpool. One would think that it would be welcome to accept the decision of a young player to find his footing at a new club, so that he can be more successful for club and country in the future – obviously not! Players who don’t play for their country get a bit of a break, with Konate watching France beat Ireland on Thursday night from the stands. While he and others on the injury list are focusing all their rehabilitation to ensure they will be available soon after the international break. Jurgen Klopp’s side have a busy schedule between their return and the international break in October
