Alexis MacAllister and Dominik Szoboszlai have had impressive careers at Liverpool, and according to one report the club have made two extraordinary deals.

Fans were delighted with the £35m signing of Mac Allister at the start of the summer.
That fee already looks like a steal as the World Cup winner slotted straight into Jurgen Klopp’s midfield and produced a solid performance.

Szoboszlai followed Mac Allister a month later when the club fulfilled the release clause in the Hungarian’s contract.

The £60 million made him Liverpool’s most expensive signing of the summer, but even that deal looks to be considerable value.

A valuation tool developed by Football Observatory revealed that the Reds paid a combined £42m for their first two signings of the summer, a huge saving in the current market.

The tool values both players at €80m, which converts to around £68.5m and makes their combined worth £137m.
That said, £95m spent on two players is excellent value and the start of their Anfield careers backs that up.

The austerity allowed Liverpool to make further additions to the center of the park as part of the most significant midfield overhaul in the club’s recent history.

Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch have joined the Reds following the departure of five senior midfielders, and Klopp’s engine for 2023/24 is now virtually unknown. It’s early days, but both Mac Allister and Szoboszlai have given fans plenty of reason to be excited about what they can produce in a Liverpool shirt.

The pair look a marked improvement on the 8 options the manager had at his disposal last season, and Szoboszlai will be hoping his early strike against Aston Villa is a sign of things to come in terms of increased midfield goals.
