The first national team break of the season came after just four games, the next came after another seven – a run Liverpool will play in 22 days.

The September international break never fails to disappoint, with the campaign arriving just a few match days away, just as you’re getting back into the swing of club football.
Jurgen Klopp hopes his 16 senior players will return without any health issues as they face a busy schedule when they return.

Liverpool play an average game every 3.1 days on the return leg, with every midweek and weekend booked until the next break after the trip to Brighton. We get our first taste of action from Thursday to Sunday when the Reds travel to LASK before hosting West Ham at Anfield three days later. The same schedule follows with Union Saint-Gilloise and Brighton.

League Cup games are also on the agenda this month, with Leicester visiting as in 2021/22. in which Liverpool lifted the trophy for a record ninth time.

Liverpool and Klopp therefore expect a busy few weeks for him to quickly turn to the likes of Ibrahima Konate and Trent Alexander-Arnold after his time in the treatment room.
