According to reports, Kevin De Bruyne has made up his mind on his future with Manchester City despite claims that Al-Ittihad is prepared to offer him staggering salaries to entice him to transfer to Saudi Arabia and team up with Mo

The Belgian star, who cost a then-club record £55 million to acquire from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015, is regarded as one of the best players in the world. De Bruyne has won 13 major awards during his tenure at the Etihad, including the Premier League five times and the Champions League trophy in June of this year. He has also made 358 appearances and scored an impressive 96 goals and 128 assists.

And not bad given Paul Merson at the time called his signing a “absolute joke” for a player who was “out of his depth at Chelsea.” However, the Sky Sports analyst has already made an embarrassing climbdown and acknowledged his mistakes.

In his eight seasons at the club, the two-time Player of the Year has rarely had his name associated with transfers. In the end, this is due to the fact that everyone can see he is performing at the pinnacle of his ability at the Etihad, has benefited from Pep Guardiola’s leadership, and has never once lobbied for a new challenge elsewhere.

But over the summer, rumors circulated that De Bruyne would be the latest player pursued by Saudi Arabia’s wealthy teams.

Aymeric Laporte and Riyad Mahrez have already left City for the Gulf State this summer, and now there are worries that De Bruyne might follow them.

Although a transfer was not made this summer, new rumors say that Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia is prepared to make a serious drive in 2024 to sign him away from the Etihad in what might be a dream team-up with their other top target, Mohamed Salah of Liverpool.

Salah helped Liverpool defeat Al-Ittihad, but as they saw, the Saudis would do whatever it takes to get their man. De Bruyne might be persuaded to accept the transfer if a substantial offer were to come in, according to rumours of wages that are close to the £1.5 million per week threshold.

The Sun believes De Bruyne will reject any invitations to participate in the Saudi gold rush, indicating De Bruyne’s position on his future.

According to reports, the 32-year-old hopes to wrap up his professional career at the Etihad Stadium and would, at the very least, honor his contract, which still has two seasons to remain.

De Bruyne would like to sign an extension to stay at City rather than pursue a lucrative free transfer when the time comes since his young family is already established in the area and because he believes he can continue to play at a high level long into his mid-thirties and beyond.

The 32-year-old reportedly intends to finish his professional career at Etihad Stadium and would, at the at least, uphold his contract, which still has two seasons left.
