The summer transfer window was eventful for Liverpool with new additions and notable departures, but there were also moves for those who once called Anfield home.

The transfer window is always an interesting time to look at player movements in Europe and see what ex-Liverpool players are up to.
And quite a few found new homes in the summer, including Divock Origi and Gini Wijnaldum. Two Reds who only left the club in 2022 and 2021.

As for Wijnaldum, the 32-year-old never made it to PSG and after a loan spell at Roma, he joined a host of players who opted to move to Saudi Arabia. He joined Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq and was reunited with Jordan Henderson.

But who else moved this summer? Let’s see.
Divock Origi – Nottingham Forest (loan)

Philippe Coutinho – Al-Duhail (loan)

Ragnar Klavan – JK Tallinn Kalev

Andy Carroll – Amiens

Arthur – Fiorentina (loan)

Philippe Coutinho continues to struggle to settle and find form and has now moved from Aston Villa to Al-Duhail in Qatar, his fourth different club since leaving Anfield in 2018.

Ã¥Cult hero Ragnar Klavan has dusted off his football boots to join the 22nd senior football team, combining his presidential duties with playing for Tallinna Kalevi. Former Liverpool striker Andy Carroll is still around. The 34-year-old joins Ligue 2 club Amiens after clearing his release clause at Reading – his third move in less than three years.

⇓Arthur has since temporarily left Juventus to join Fiorentina. At the time of writing, he has already played almost 30 times more minutes than he did at Liverpool (13).
Ryan Kent, who has only played once for Liverpool, made a surprise switch from Rangers to Fenerbahce in the summer and has been in and out of the team so far this season.

Conor Coady has also made another move, a year after his “glorious” loan move to Everton – joining Leicester from Wolves for £7.5m. He is unlikely to feature in their League Cup trip to Anfield this month due to injury.
Ki-Jana Hoever has returned to Stoke on loan after making a lasting impression with his work in the second half of last season.

The defender, now 21, is looking to establish himself but has yet to prove to senior club Wolves that he can be a reliable first-team option.
Ki-Jana Hoever – Stoke (loan)

Sheyi Ojo – KV Kortrijk (loan)

Sergi Canos – Valencia

Kamil Grabara – Wolfsburg (agreed summer 2024)

Fabio Borini – Sampdoria

Liverpool also made a surprise £2.3m move after Wolfsburg confirmed the signing of former academy goalkeeper Kamil Grabara until 2024.

This is the second release clause this summer as Allan Rodrigues moves from Atletico Mineiro to Flamengo. It has been quite a summer of change for many former Liverpool youngsters and seniors, many of whom are looking to take root and establish themselves at the next stages.
Lawrence Vigouroux – Burnley

Conor Masterson – Gillingham

David Amoo – Ebbsfleet United

Tom Brewitt – Swindon

Luis Longstaff – Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Dal Varesanovic – Caykur Rizespor

Ben Winterbottom – Welling United (loan)

Liam Millar – Preston (loan)

If you’re a keen league follower across Europe, it’s not hard to find a former Red to keep an eye on!
