Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the most polarizing players in the Premier League today.
Despite the fact that Alexander-Arnold is clearly a world-class talent, he remains the darling of many fans and pundits.
Indeed, some want to pick holes in the defensive side of his game, while others praise him for his incredible ability.

One big Alexander-Arnold fan is Gary Lineker, but he too believes the winger has room for improvement. He stated that he believes he would be a much better player if he was used in midfield. right rear.

Alexander-Arnold should play in midfield
Lineker spoke about the Liverpool star on No Ratings. “I’ve been saying that since I saw him,” Lineker said when asked if he thought Trent should play in midfield.

From the right back, he is limited by his incredible passing, because he can only pass from the left. Playing in the middle you can go either way and he would be much better. He grew as a midfielder and happened to get a chance at right back and played exceptionally well. Is he the best defender in football? Not at all, but you say they can’t win with him because they won a lot with him there. I personally feel he should be in midfield, he could definitely dominate there as a playmaker.

There’s no doubt that Alexander-Arnold can be a fantastic midfielder – he’s looked incredible playing there before, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Indeed, at his best, Alexander-Arnold is truly the best right-back on the planet, collecting pass after pass in Jurgen Klopp’s system at Liverpool.

He is already world class in his current role at Liverpool, so why change that? It’s a bit confusing, but we think Alexander-Arnold is fine where he is.
