Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Ajax teenager Jorrel Hato, who Jurgen Klopp is said to be a big fan of.
Football Transfers claim the 17-year-old defender is a target for the Reds as Liverpool look to add a centre-back to their ranks, with Klopp admiring Hato.
The Dutch youth defender is considered one of Ajax’s most exciting prospects, with Hato starting every game and playing every minute for the Amsterdam-based club this season.
Target Scouting recognized him as a player with “incredible composure.” He was hit with a direct hit and Liverpool are now interested in signing Hato.
With a defender on Klopp’s shopping list unable to solve the problem in the summer, Hato could be a great option for the Reds as they eye the January market. However, with Hato now a starter at Ajax and the centre-back not turning 18 until March, Liverpool may struggle to sign the youngster as his value increases every week.
Ajax’s ability to produce wonders almost every year is admirable and Hato is certainly a contender this season, with Liverpool now interested.
As a result, the Reds need to get to work now if they are to sign the youngster in the January market.
More games and minutes in Europe will see Hato’s valuation skyrocket in the coming weeks and Liverpool will need to make an early move to sign the defender in early 2024.
