Andy Robertson believes Liverpool got what they deserved from a strong second-half showing against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday lunchtime.
The Reds secured a dramatic 3-1 Premier League victory at Molineux, with Robertson scoring in the 85th minute, before a Hugo Bueno own goal, via Harvey Elliott’s low strike, found the back of the net in added time.

Liverpool had fallen behind inside the opening 10 minutes after Hwang Hee-chan’s effort, though turned the game around following the half-time interval, as Cody Gakpo levelled ahead of the hour before the two late strikes sealed the spoils.
“We obviously weren’t at the races [in the] first half,” Robertson reflected to TNT Sports post-match.

“You can come up with excuses with lads travelling the world and things like that, but at the end of the day you have to be ready to play the game. I think it took us 45 minutes to get there.

“Wolves were the better team. They created the best chances, they put us under pressure and we made too many mistakes. But in the second half we came out, changed the formation a bit, went 4-4-2 and I think that it worked, [we started] raising people much higher in this field.

“I think we dominated the second half and probably got what we deserved in the second half.”

In his late goal… Look,

I don’t score many goals, so it’s always nice to score goals. Obviously we knew they counter-attacked quickly from corners, so we had to be alert. I know Mo can always pick a pass so I thought I might as well go there. Luckily I got it. I’m happy with the goal, of course it’s important for us to move forward. In his position on the right thanks to his efforts…

I just played and watched. I think we scored a quick goal on Tuesday night [in Scotland] and I just followed the position where I thought there was space and then it’s the same today. Obviously I was the last man up, I drove on and I saw Mo on that side and I thought I could follow that, but I don’t think Mo Salah’s position is in danger, that’s for sure.

I don’t think it will last! But we feel free and it’s all about occupying the place and I just followed the passage. Mohamed Salah’s two assists in…

I thought he put in another very good performance in the second half, as did we all. I thought in the first half we weren’t there. But having said that, he probably won’t get credit until he scores a goal now, which is probably a bit unfair.

≅I think he had two assists today and he got us back into the game. He created chances for us and in the second half he was quite good and probably gave us the pace as well.
