Liverpool will return from Premier League action without defender Trent Alexander-Arnold when they travel to Wolves today (12.30pm).

Goalkeeper: Alisson
Alisson kept a clean sheet in Liverpool’s last match against Aston Villa – his first Premier League season.
The 30-year-old was out on international duty but was an unused substitute in both Brazil games when Ederson stopped him. He will be hoping for an uneventful afternoon at Wolves, where he conceded three last season, as Liverpool look for a fourth win in five games.
Defense: Gomez, Matip, Konate, Robertson
Academy graduate Jarell Quansah will make his full Liverpool debut against Wolves with Alexander-Arnold ruled out with a hamstring injury.
The 20-year-old has made two substitute appearances and can be trusted to make his first start against Wolves. However, Ibrahima Konate is more likely to replace Alexander-Arnold as he recovers from the thigh injury that kept him out of the Villa match.
The return of Konate, which would be the first change of the team, would then see Joe Gomez move to right-back. Virgil van Dijk misses Wolves’ send-off against Newcastle and has been handed an extra one-match ban by the FA.
Midfield: Jones, Endo, Szoboszlai
The midfield trio of Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai could also be fitted against Wolves. The trio played a key role in Aston Villa’s success. Although Mac Allister returned from international duty in Argentina in Bolivia, he only had one training session.
Liverpool head coach Jürgen Klopp could instead start Wataru Endo at the foot of midfield. Harvey Elliott hopes to get minutes off the bench with Mac Allister, but Thiago Alcantara is yet to return to full training.
It is unclear when Ryan Gravenberch will make his debut, with Klopp saying the Dutchman “must be fit”. He would get a cameo off the bench.
