Even after leaving Liverpool, James Milner continues to torment Man United and his latest victory resulted in an impressive record.

Had the club members known how things would turn out later in the summer, Milner could still have been a Liverpool player this season.
But with Fabinho and Jordan Henderson showing no signs of leaving, the decision was made to let his contract expire, paving the way for a free transfer to Brighton.

The 37-year-old has featured in all five of the Seagulls’ games this season, four of which Roberto De Zerbi’s side have won.

Man United were beaten 3-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday, with Brighton having more of the ball despite the away team. United suffered throughout and Milner came off the bench for the final 13 minutes to see out the game at left back.

It was the veteran’s 11th win against Man United in the Premier League, according to Opta, more than any other player in the history of the competition.

Milner is also the first player to win at Manchester Old Trafford with four different clubs – Aston Villa, Man City, Liverpool and now Brighton.
And he has six wins away from United in the league, which is also equal to the most since the Premier League began in 1992.

Part of that is, of course, down to Milner’s longevity in the Premier League, as his 35 appearances for United over his 22 seasons are second only to Chelsea (36). Only Ryan Giggs has played as many consecutive Premier League campaigns and Milner was on course to overtake the former United midfielder on the all-time caps list this seaso Saturday 20 May 2023: Liverpool’s James Milner applauds the supporters after the FA Premier League match between Liverpool FC and Aston Villa FC at Anfield.

If Milner, currently ranked 624th, surpasses Giggs’ mark of 632nd, he will be second only to Gareth Barry (652nd).
Regardless, his record is phenomenal, highlighting his contribution to the success of these four clubs in their clashes with United.

In terms of goals, Milner has been more prolific against only five other Premier League sides than his record of three goals and four assists against United. Sunderland (six goals, four assists), Everton (three goals, seven assists), Stoke (one goal, eight assists), Villa (four goals, four assists) and Leicester (three goals, five assists) are only worse. . obliquely
Shout out to James Milner – Man United’s least favorite opponent.
