When thanking Mohamed Salah on being selected man of the match against Wolves on Saturday, Liverpool was commended for deleting the Carlsberg emblem from social media posts for religious reasons. At the Molineux Stadium, the winger was a constant threat down the right side and was crucial to his team’s successful comeback.

After Hee-Chan Hwang’s opening goal, Jurgen Klopp’s team was forced to battle against Wolves after falling behind after just seven minutes. The Reds then responded through Cody Gakpo, who was on hand to finish from close range after Salah crossed the ball in the 55th minute.

Liverpool persisted in pressing and were rewarded when Andrew Robertson put his team in lead from a tight angle after being set up by Salah in a deft passing movement. In extra time, Harvey Elliott then appeared to put the game to rest when his shot nestled into the goal, but due to a deflection, it was declared an own goal by Hugo Bueno.

Due to his two assists, Salah was named man of the match for the day, and the Reds were considerate in their praise of the Egypt international. The forward is Muslim, and alcohol consumption is not permitted in Islam.

Because of this, the Reds decided to leave out long-time sponsors Carlsberg from the tweet (X) announcing Salah as their star player for the day and omitting their emblem from the associated image.

When other players were named Player of the Match, some Liverpool fans highlighted those posts to emphasize the level of care taken by the media staff. Liverpool fans were eager to applaud the club’s activities.
