Liverpool want to fend off interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold by offering the defender a new long-term deal.

After breaking through the academy, Alexander-Arnold made his Liverpool debut in 2016 as a fresh teenager.
Since then, Alexander-Arnold has played over 250 games for his boyhood club and was appointed Liverpool vice-captain by manager Jurgen Klopp at the start of the 23/24 season.

According to 90Min, Liverpool are offering the 24-year-old a new long-term deal which will see his wages increase to around £250,000-a-week.

The report also claimed that the new contract offer is a bid to fend off the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, who are said to be interested in bringing Alexander-Arnold to La Liga. It has been reported that talks between Liverpool and Alexander-Arnold are progressing well and the Anfield club are said to be confident of a deal being reached before Christmas.

The Englishman is currently recovering from a horn injury he picked up in Liverpool’s 3-1 win against Aston Villa before the international break.
also reported that fellow defender Kostas Tsimikas will sign a new contract to extend his stay at Anfield.

The Greek international’s current contract will end in 2025, but the extension will run until 2027.

Tsimikas was brought in 2020 to compete for No. 1 left back Andy Robertson.
So far, the 27-year-old has featured frequently in competitions such as the FA Cup and the League Cup.
Tsimikas was the hero in the 21/22 season when he scored the winning penalty against Chelsea to win the FA Cup at Wembley.
