Lionel Messi of Liverpool has chosen to follow a different route than Cristiano RonaldoLiverpool’s attack has evolved collectively over the last two years, but Mohamed Salah is also different individually. The Egyptian’s game is improving.

It stood out how good Mohamed Salah was in the second half against Wolves. However, it’s easy to see very quickly what his influence was, even though it’s just the norm these days.

First, he scored all three goals, although the third may not have been credited as an assist because it made it an own goal. But the Egyptian was excellent in every way.
In the first period, when everyone in a Liverpool shirt was struggling, Salah tried to get past his man, Wolves defender Rayan Aït-Nour, but failed. In the second half, he no longer had it.

Salah has often (quite unfairly) been labeled as a “selfish” or “greedy” player at Liverpool, but that should no longer be an accusation against him.

In the last season or so, he has become both a creator and a scorer. In the Premier League so far, he is first in great chances created and assists, while he is second in goals scored and expected assists. He became the highest-scoring African player in Premier League history at the weekend.

Only Thierry Henry has reached the 200 goal mark in fewer Premier League games than Salah and only Steven Gerrard has more Premier League goals than Liverpool.
Salah is not only a scorer, but also a creator. And it’s a pattern that’s been in place for some time. He has now scored or assisted in 11 consecutive league games and has 44 goals or assists in his last 31 major league games.

This is a player who is constantly changing and adapting. His game has improved and that means he could play at this level for some time, making the idea that he is even considering a move to Saudi Arabia this summer laughable.

What a waste that would be for a player who is still one of the best in the world. Salah looks set to follow in Lionel Messi’s footsteps when he turns 30. The Argentine showed one method by which he was able to stay at the top of the game for as long as possible, becoming an elite player who scored as many goals as he scored.
Cristiano Ronaldo may have been the ninth to broadcast and do nothing else, but Salah and Messi seem to enjoy trying something new.

Of course, it’s not exactly “new” for either player. Salah continues to score like Messi, but the Egyptian may be providing more assists than ever this season. That certainly seems likely, and not just because of his firepower.
