Liverpool are working hard off the pitch as they prepare for their first Europa League game of the season, with Diogo Jota naming the best player his team should have.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will have to get used to a new routine on Thursday and Sunday after failing to qualify for the Champions League and finishing fifth in the Premier League last season. Liverpool are the Europa League favorites and kick off their campaign in Linz, Austria this week.

This is another factor that Klopp and his coaching staff will have to consider during the 2022/23 campaign. They made a promising start and were third in the league, unbeaten in their first five games.

They know that it is not easy to maintain such form during a 38-game league season while competing on two fronts. With that in mind, the latest news from the club.

Diogo Jota has said goodbye to Portuguese team-mate Bernardo Silva, but a move to Liverpool is not on the cards.
Silva recently signed a new one-year contract extension with City, committing his future to Pep Guardiola’s side until 2026. However, the deal includes a £50m release clause which can be activated next summer.
Jota said That’s Football: “Bernardo. “To me, he’s probably one of the smartest football lads I’ve ever known and the way he can hide the ball from opponents is special.”

Liverpool underwent a major overhaul in the summer, with Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leaving and Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataro Endo joining.

The new arrivals have settled in quickly and Harvey Elliott believes the team is doing better now. “The depth of the squad is much better and bigger now,” Elliott told the Liverpool Echo after the weekend’s 3-1 win over Wolves.

“I think the club exploited the areas in the transfer window where we needed more players, younger players who can step up now and I look at people like Jarell [Quansah], who made his Premier League debut today, stepped up and he . was just incredible.”

Liverpool have been busy off the pitch, signing lucrative business deals.

On Tuesday, the club announced the signing of a contract with the logistics company UPS, which has become the official global partner for logistics and transport of the team.
The news follows similar deals with Google and Peloton last year. According to the Echo, the three deals are worth a total of around £35m to the club.
