West Ham United signed former Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse in the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old midfielder was set to leave Southampton earlier this summer following their relegation to the Championship.

Ward-Prowse seems to have hit it off at his new club and has been an important first-team player for David Moyes.

The England midfielder has already scored two goals and provided three assists for his new club and former Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy has been very impressed with his performances so far.

Micah Richards hails the Newcastle star’s excellent performance in the Champions League.

Murphy praised the former Southampton midfielder for his brilliance in scoring and in open play. He also added that the 28-year-old midfielder helps in defense and can score important goals against the momentum of the game.

“How good was he anyway? Wow!” he said. “But we said it here, I said it here.

“Pay the premium, which it was, about £5 million, for God’s sake. “He’s great on the ball, he’s reliable defensively, he’s good on the ball and he’ll score for you!”

Ward-Prowse will be hoping to build on his impressive start at West Ham and prove himself an irreplaceable asset to the club.
