Ben Parker told LS11 he doesn’t understand why Leeds United defender Joe Rodon was sent off against Hull City on Wednesday – the Welshman was shown two yellow cards in the 0-0 draw.

Rodon, 25, started his fifth successive Championship game at Leeds on Wednesday night. The Wales ace received stitches to his eyebrows and two black eyes after suffering a facial injury against Millwall on Sunday.

The £15 million Tottenham signing was booked for a foul on Jaden Philogene, but replays showed it was rough. Another yellow no doubt – he got there second. Hull was gone. Hard from the first yellow.

Leeds had to play with 10 men for the remaining 30 minutes – and Illan Meslier kept a clean sheet for the third game in a row thanks to an incredible miss from Hull’s 10 Adama Traore. Parker replied.

“Another yellow, can’t complain too much. It returns to the first. We saw it live and we didn’t come out, but you look back and think, wow,” former Leeds defender Parker said on Thursday.

“He’s been a huge player for us, he’s been brilliant, does the basics well – defends the box and wins tackles. He reads the game very well,” Parker continued on this morning’s episode of LS11.

Parker does not understand why Leeds man Rodon was sacked
It’s a stroke. Rodon was key for Leeds, keeping three clean sheets in a row, including on Wednesday – before the red card, Hull had nothing good for them. Leeds should be one or two up.

One positive is that Liam Cooper came off the bench following Rodon’s red card and the Scotland star is now fit again. He is likely to come on Saturday – or Charlie Cresswell will start against Watford.
