Andy Robertson playfully punched team-mate Ben Doak in Liverpool training and instantly regretted it in the hilarious moment.

Robertson and Doak trained in Liverpool this week before flying to Austria for tonight’s Europa League game against LASK.

The Scotland left-back, who scored in his side’s 3-1 win over Wolves last weekend, will be rested for the season opener.

Doak, on the other hand, could be in line for a place in the XI as Jurgen Klopp can make wholesale changes.

But Robertson and Doak trained together and did great training. The video shows the 29-year-old punching his 17-year-old colleague.

Robertson accidentally hit Doak and immediately regretted the shot. He cut a shocked figure and immediately apologized. Check it out below:

Doak could feature for Liverpool against LASK after impressing for Scotland Under-21s against Spain this month.

He has already impressed his teammates and Virgil van Dijk speaks glowingly of the rising star.

“I remember when he played away to Villa last year and he took that step and went over the back,” he said.

“He’s very exciting, very simple, single. I call him the Tasmanian Devil because he buzzes, he’s so fast. If his judgment improves – and he has all the time in the world – he can certainly be in the future.

Highlights of Ben Doak’s performance against Spain are frequent.

Doak, 17, played for Scotland U21s when they faced Spain U21s in the 2025 European Under-21 qualifiers.

In a difficult situation, Spain finally won 1-0 thanks to an 83rd minute goal from Benat Turrientes.

Despite losing Doak’s show, he received a lot of attention. The Liverpool winger showed his pace and ability as he was direct in his play and often ran at the Spanish defense to push his team forward.

At one point, Doak made a spectacular turn to get away from his marker in the middle of the park.

The young winger could also have reached the scoreboard, but his close shot was blocked by the Spanish goalkeeper.

Scotland U21 coach Scot Gemmill said: “It was an exceptional performance from Ben Doak. I would add that there is more to come from him. – He is not fully fit now because he plays in such a good club. Imagine a fully fit Ben Doak!

He added: “I thought it was a really great performance and I hope everyone saw it.”

Overall, it was a very encouraging performance from the 17-year-old as he looks to get more game time at Liverpool this season.

It is well documented that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp rates Doak highly after he brought him on to replace Mohamed Salah during the Reds’ opening Premier League match away at Chelsea

During Liverpool’s pre-season campaign, Klopp praised Doak, he said: “We saw the kids how good they were. James never played a six before and today he played there and it was so nice to watch, to be honest. Bobby first half did really well.

“Ben Doak, oh my God, it’s much fun to watch these kids. Calum I’ve known him only nine days, he was injured before and now he was there. Koumas came on, Conor Bradley really good.”

Liverpool have agreed a brand new deal with Mohamed Salah’s potential successor, Ben Doak.

On Wednesday, the Reds confirmed via their website that the 17-year-old had put pen to paper on a new contract in Merseyside after impressing within the club’s youth ranks.

He is viewed by some as a potential long-term replacement for Salah, should he continue to progress and improve.

The teenager seriously impressed for Scotland during an 2025 U21 Euro qualification match against Spain over the international break, demonstrating his electric pace and quick feet.

While he has made six senior appearances for Liverpool, notching his first goal for the club with a header during a 4-0 win over Leicester City.

And that has seen his price tag raise by over seven times as much as he was worth 18 months ago, after Liverpool signed him for around £600,000 from Celtic in March 2022

Now according to the CIES observatory, Doak is worth €5 million euros (£4.3m), just over seven times as much as Jurgen Klopp paid for him.

The German’s admiration for Doak is well documented after he brought him on to replace Salah during the Reds’ opening Premier League match against Chelsea.

During Liverpool’s pre-season campaign, Klopp praised Doak, saying: “We saw the kids how good they were.

Both teams went into half-time with Arsenal leading 2-1 when Mo Salah pulled one back following strikes from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.
But then pure chaos ensued after the whistle, with Liverpool players, including captain Jordan Henderson, completely effervescent and surrounded by referee Paul Tierney.
Commenting, Jamie Carragher claimed to have seen assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis elbow Robertson.

And then when Sky Sports returned from the break, they showed footage of the linesman hitting the Scot in shocking scenes.

According to reporter Geoff Shreeves, Robertson was seen expressing that he had been “elbowed in the throat” and was still smoking after walking out of the tunnel. The former Hull City defender was cautioned by the referee, but the linesman could have been in big trouble with the game.

He kept his position in the second half, but you could have predicted that Jurgen Klopp would have a lot to say about Hatzidakis in his post-match interview.

Sky showed several different angles of impact and certainly didn’t look like a good lineman, although Robertson was able to catch him first down.

But Roy Keane showed Robertson no sympathy, branding him a “big baby” and telling him to “focus on his defence”
The game was really heated towards the end of the first half when both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Granit Xhaka were booked for a heated argument. It sent the Anfield crowd and Liverpool players into a frenzy and set up a stunning encounter on Merseyside.

Salah had a golden chance to equalize as soon as Rob Holding tripped Diogo Jota, but the Egyptian blasted the ball wide after a second successive penalty.
But substitute Roberto Firmino grabbed a late equalizer to give Manchester City a huge boost to their title aspirations.
The linesman accused of elbowing Liverpool star Andrew Robertson has been sacked.

As Liverpool and Arsenal players left the pitch at half-time in the weekend’s 2-2 draw, linesman Constantine Hatzidakis was involved in an incident with Robertson. During the heated exchange, Hatzidakis appeared to approach him with an elbow from a red defender.

After seeing the footage of the collision, the PGMOL launched an investigation that confirms the punishment of Hatzidakis. The statement read: “Constantine Hatzidakis will not be named by PGMOL in any competition he plays while the FA investigates the incident at Anfield involving assistant referee and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson.”

Sky Sports sideline reporter Geoff Shreeves said at the time: “Andy Robertson was absolutely apoplectic, stunned even.

“He said the linesman had just punched me in the throat – Jordan Henderson was well aware of that and led the protests with referee Paul Tierney and then they were broken up.
“Unusual scenes.”

The contact left Robertson visibly confused as his Liverpool teammates rushed to see what had just happened. One of the first players to break his silence on the incident was Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino.

“I couldn’t see the transfer, but I saw some teammates talking about what happened. But I don’t know what’s going on,” he told ESPN Brazil.
– I don’t know if he intended to attack, but then the Premier League is what (must) decide with the club. It’s not up to me. Because I didn’t see either.
“Yes (Robertson was furious). I think he had contact, didn’t he? But I can’t say anything because I haven’t spoken to him about it.”

Reds manager Jürgen Klopp also spoke about this. “I haven’t seen it and now I probably have time to watch it, but not only because I can’t give wrong answers,” Klopp said after the match.
“I’ve heard the pictures speak for themselves. I can’t say more. I haven’t seen a single bit of it.”

There have been a number of incidents involving players and referees this season, most notably Fulham striker Aleksandr Mitrovic putting his hand on the referee during the FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester United.
This time, however, the referee touches the player – a decision no doubt watched closely by referee Howard Webb.
