The ex-Liverpool defender, who was once wanted by ex-Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, has been revealed as signing a new contract with English League Six club Warrington Tow.

Footballer Andre Wisdom has landed a new club after his new signing with English sixth tier club Warrington Town was revealed.

Warrington, who previously played for Liverpool, Derby County, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and Red Bull Salzburg, signed Wisdom ahead of the weekend’s home clash with King’s Lynn Town in the National League North.

The 30-year-old has been without a club since 2021 when he left Derby County, but has had trials with a number of clubs including Portsmouth and Sheffield United.

The Yellows are managed by Mark Beesley, who will be hoping to make a better impression on Wisdom than his former boss Frank Lampard did during their time together at Derby County. Lampard led the Rams in 2018/19. to one season in the Championship which saw them reach Wembley in the play-off final, which they lost 2-1 to Aston Villa. From there, he was appointed Chelsea boss after the sacking of Maurizio Sarri. And while he is thought to be leaving Derby on good terms, Wisdom has previously said he is not a fan of the legendary England midfielder.

Speaking to The Beautiful Game Podcast in May, Wise revealed that Lampard once shouted in my face, looking at him in a way that felt a little too personal. “One manager shouted at me and that was Lampard,” began Wisdom.

“We were beaten, I think 4-0, and I made some comments after the game and then he just came on. But it wasn’t really about football, it was more about me as a person, which was very strange for me.

“He said some things that were just really weird. Like when someone says, ‘I’m not afraid of you’. He said I walked slowly, he said I bully people.”
