Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp picked up his record 50th European win when he beat LASK 3-1 in Austria.
His side came from behind for the fourth time in six games as goals from Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and substitute Mohamed Salah secured the German club’s 50th European win – surpassing their record under Rafael Benitez.

“I will say this, if I have 50 more wins after the group stage, even if I have the most wins in Europe as manager of Liverpool, everyone will hate it,” he said.

“Most win, but everyone hates it.
“It’s great – we’ve played a lot of games in Europe but it’s good to have won so many and been in finals often. “No, it’s great, but that’s probably because there are a lot more games in the competition now than before.”

Klopp made 11 changes at Wolves after the weekend win, contributing to a confusing and slow start.
LASK took full advantage of the biggest game in their history as they flew out of the blocks to score from Florian Flecker’s expertly drilled corner.

“Difficult start, yes. Obviously the first kick after the set piece and we conceded,” added the Reds boss.

– We had very good moments, but I could see that the children did not feel it. Not that we got any confidence from our good times – we didn’t think we’d have to do it again.
“So we suffered less good moments in terms of confidence and frustration grew. It’s not logical. It’s human, but it doesn’t make sense.

“We showed them (in the half) two football situations from the first half that we managed quite well. The guys clearly thought there was nothing good about the first batch, but it wasn’t true.
“We told them they had to get over the disappointment to get back into the game and then we had a good chance to turn it around and that’s what we did in the end.

“I’m very, very happy because I said before I knew it would be very difficult and it was difficult, even though people didn’t believe me. In the end, I deserved the victory and that’s it.

“I know people expect us to fly through this race. It won’t happen in the group stage, it won’t happen in the playoffs either. We have to dig, dig it.”

LASK coach Thomas Sageder was disappointed that they could not capitalize on their good start.

“We played very bravely, we were aggressive and we had a chance to score another goal, but it was only 1-0 at half-time,” he said.
“In the second half we saw what a good team Liverpool are, but we fought until the end.”
