Liverpool  boss Jurgen Klopp provides Ryan Gravenberch injury latest after “super” full debut

Ryan Gravenberch’s full Liverpool debut was cut short in Austria due to injury and the boss was on hand to give his post-match assessment.

The Reds started their Europa League campaign with a 3-1 win thanks to an early goal from LASK’s Florian Flecker.
Goals from Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah saw the team home with all three points, but Gravenberch’s night ended prematurely when Salah replaced him after 15 minutes.

Jürgen Klopp told TNT Sports after the game that the Dutchman was suffering from cramps, which was simply due to the lack of competitive minutes in recent weeks.

Gravenberch made his first start for the club with Luis Diaz’s assist to give the Reds the lead just after the hour, but went down with a complaint shortly after his attempted clearance. Klopp added after the game: “Ryan played a great game and was really crucial for us.”
The Dutchman is hoping to establish himself in Liverpool’s midfield, returning to the pitch sooner rather than later.

He opted to stay at the AXA training center instead of completing his Netherlands U21 international duty to get up to speed in his new surroundings.
The Bayern Munich midfielder’s £38.5m move provided plenty of excitement for fans and his arrival marked the end of a massive summer overhaul in the middle of the park.

Gravenberch played 75 minutes of football in his first start for the club and will be looking to increase that number as soon as possible to make his mark in Klopp’s side.
