Liverpool delighted the former player with a summer deal, while Jurgen Klopp is so interested in the defender in January that he has reportedly already given the green light.

It doesn’t matter if Liverpool have had a good start to the Premier League season or the Europa League has started, new transfer rumors are constantly circulating. While Jurgen Klopp is happy with the squad he has at his disposal, there are always stories pointing to new players at Anfield.

And to be honest, even Klopp can admit that the Reds squad is not without holes. Similarly, with the defense most in need of strengthening in the eyes of the supporters, Liverpool boss Jarell Quansah can be praised and seen as the long-term heir to the place currently occupied by Virgil van Dijk. With the Reds’ defensive record of the quality of chances improving in the league when the Dutchman was unavailable, Klopp may have a point. However, this does not stop the rumor.

It was even reported that the Liverpool manager had given the green light to sign the defender in January. Here are two pieces of news from Liverpool.com today that you won’t want to miss.

Peter Crouch by Dominik Szoboszlai

As one of many ex-Liverpool players, former striker Peter Crouch is often asked for his opinion on things that are red in nature.

He’s been speaking recently about both the signing and early season form of Dominik Szoboszlai, as well as Liverpool’s chances of competing for the title the season.

The headline facts are that Crouch is very positive about both. Matt Addison has more on those stories here.

Liverpool to replace departing legend?

As well as being linked with central defenders, Liverpool also faces the reality of being endlessly connected with potential replacements for Mohamed Salah. The Reds have shown no interest in selling the 31-year-old this summer. However, the club may reassess its position whenever the transfer window opens, as Saudi clubs are unlikely to last forever. Therefore, Liverpool should consider their options if they eventually need to sign a new striker.

The latest rumors suggest that Real Madrid could be in their sights, but it is also reported that Liverpool are in “progressive talks” with the Bundesliga defender after being given the “green light” by Klopp. Matt Addison has more on these stories here.
