Former Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson “can’t deny” the club is a big part of his life as he prepares to return to Bristol City. Pearson managed Leicester twice, the first from June 2008 to June 2010, when the club won League One and then finished fifth in the Championship.

After a short spell at Hull City, he returned to Leicester in November 2011 and won the Championship and completed a “great escape” from the Premier League before leaving in the summer of 2015.

It’s not just Pearson who will be returning to Leicester this weekend. Former Foxes midfielders Andy King and Matty James are both at Bristol City, along with long-term chief physio Dave Rennie.

Pearsonhas admitted that Leicester means a lot to him and insists he will try to “unplug” it as his Gunners await a result at Filbert Way. Discussing their return in the pre-match press conference, Pearson said:“Leicester has been a big part of my life.

“I can’t just sit here and talk about it not being an important part of my life. I have a huge relationship.

“There are four people back. I managed two spells there. Dave Rennie was there for 25 years. Andy King was there for a long, long time. During most of his adult career. Matty James was there for a few years. “It’s a league in general which will be interesting. But of course you know how I am, it’s about trying to get it out in preparation and then of course when the game starts.

“I can’t deny that it’s been a big part of my life and my family’s life too. I’m looking forward to seeing people I haven’t seen in a long time. But having said that, we still have work to do, we do and we still do it, together we can achieve as best as possible “If we play well and catch them on a day when things aren’t quite right for them… I think they know we can be a very, very dangerous side.”
