West Ham could actually leapfrog Liverpool if we win by three clear goals or more, although that is unlikely. But Merson believes that will not happen…

And Merson believes Liverpool have enough to win Sunday’s game:
– I think West Ham played well last weekend even though they lost 3-1 against Manchester City. They had their chances, but in the end the defending champions showed their class, especially in the second half. Liverpool also adopted this style after the Wolves break and looked much better after opting for Luis Diaz from Alexis MacAllister. Things didn’t go their way in the first half, but Jurgen Klopp made a number of tactical changes at half-time as they clawed their way back into the game. West Ham are very good on the ball but I expect Liverpool to attack it. Playing at Anfield is a big advantage for them in the UEFA Europa League in Austria.
Prediction: Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
I feel like this could be a close game.
The Reds had to fly back from Austria and would not have much time to prepare for the match.
As long as we defend solidly and give Liverpool something to think about when we go forward, I think we can get a result at Anfield.
We all know how dangerous Jurgen Klopp’s side can be, but they are far from deceptive. A draw would be a good result for the Hammers and I think we are more than capable of getting a point from the game.
