Liverpool return to Anfield this afternoon on the back of two away wins and Jurgen Klopp has made eight changes to face West Ham.

Klopp sprung a surprise in midweek when he made 11 changes in the Europa League opener against LASK and his bench helped secure a comeback win.

Less shockingly, most of the rested players are back in the squad for today’s Premier League clash.

Alisson is back in goal after Caoimhi Kelleher’s strike between the sticks and the Irishman is expected to act as the keeper of the cup. With Trent Alexander-Arnold still not fully fit, Joe Gomez will start on the right and Andy Robertson will start on the left.

Virgil van Dijk remains at centre-back and Joel Matip replaces Ibrahima Konate alongside the captain, with Alexis Mac Allister in the number six position.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones are back in attacking midfield roles, with Ryan Gravenberch’s brilliant display against LASK hampered by late cramping.

Mohamed Salah scored a record 42nd European goal in midweek and is back in the Premier League today, joining Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez in attack.

That leaves Gravenberch, Konate and Cody Gakpo on the Anfield bench. Liverpool: Alisson; Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; MacAllister, Szoboszlai, Jones; Vale, Diaz, Nunez

Varus: Kelleher, Endo, Konate, Gakpo, Elliott, Jota, Tsimikas, Gravenberch, Quansah
