Man City closely monitoring Liverpool  as the Reds prepares plan for their title defining fixtures

Manchester City may be watching Liverpool’s next five games closely as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool 2.0 prove they can once again challenge for the Premier League title. The summer’s sweeping changes to the Reds’ squad have clearly had the desired effect, and City may have been looking over their shoulder at the Merseysiders.

Sunday’s 3-1 win over West Ham helped Liverpool extend their unbeaten start to the campaign. Klopp’s side finally look capable of challenging perennial champions City this season.

Six consecutive wins in all competitions have helped Liverpool start the new season in excellent form, with last season’s problems firmly in the past. The next five games could show how ready the Reds are to challenge for the Premier League title.

Beating Leicester in the Carabao Cup is a show of strength for Liverpool. Klopp is likely to play in the second tier, as he did in last week’s 3-1 Europa League win against LASK.

A win against the Foxes would be a success for Liverpool’s summer recruitment as they focus on providing Klopp with better options in his squad. The same would happen a week later when the German plays Union Saint-Gilloise, probably the weaker team in Europe. In the Premier League, Liverpool face three huge tests that could prove how far they have come in recent months. In-form Tottenham host the Reds on Saturday, with the north Londoners hoping to qualify for the Champions League this season.

Brighton welcomed the Reds a week later. The Seagulls have become one of the best teams outside the famous Big Cube and have been comfortably behind Newcastle and Manchester United in recent weeks.
