In this morning’s Liverpool headline, Ian Wright complains about Liverpool’s decision, while Roy Keane and Gary Neville agree on the club’s start to the season.

Wright says Webb will apologize as Villa coaches complain about Liverpool’s call

Ian Wright says Howard Webb may have to call and apologize to Aston Villa after Dominik Szoboszla’s opener for Liverpool.

Szoboslai scored after just three minutes at Anfield. He fired past Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez before Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner found him on the edge of the box.

The goal was later reviewed by VAR when Mohamed Salah stood in front of Martinez for a challenge, but after a quick review it was awarded and Liverpool took the lead.

However, it was reported on Premier League Matchday Live that Villa’s coaching staff appealed the goal call as they believed Martinez had clearly prevented Salah from seeing the shot. Arsenal legend Wright agreed and told the referee. Chief Webb may be forced to apologize again.

Keane and Neville agree with Liverpool as Walcott is surprised by the move

Roy Keane and Gary Neville have praised Liverpool’s start to the season as Jurgen Klopp’s side have won three and drawn their opening four games. The Reds beat Aston Villa 3-0 at Anfield after wins over Newcastle and Bournemouth and an opening day draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. It follows a midfield rebuild at Anfield, with Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo and, on deadline day, Ryan Gravenberch arriving in the summer transfer window.

It leaves Liverpool third at the first international break of the season, two points behind leaders Manchester City.

Speaking after watching his former side Manchester United lose 3-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates, Keane and Neville praised how the Reds have fared so far this season.
